DABOLIM: In a tragic incident reported near Vishal Mega Mart in Dabolim, a young electricity department staff lost his life after a roadside metal barricade collapsed on him on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Swapnil Chindarkar (30-yr-old) , a resident of Headland Sada in Mormugao.
Swapnil was returning home on two-wheeler after completing his morning shift when the unfortunate incident took place. Eyewitnesses claim the metal barricade, which was placed along the roadside, suddenly toppled, fatally injuring him.
Soon after the incident, several electricity department staff members rushed to the site, expressing anger and grief over the loss of their colleague. They demanded immediate action and justice for Swapnil Chindarkar, questioning the negligence in maintaining such barricades that pose a threat to public safety.
