Old Goa Police rounded up 14 people in Diwar Island for suspicious movement and for drinking in open public places Complaints were received from local bodies and residents from Diwar that there are suspicious movements of strangers in the island area and also people from across the river come on the island to drink in open public places. They throw garbage and break liquor bottles causing inconvenience to locals and creating public nuisance. Also some locals from Diwar are involved in such activities.
Old Goa police identified 12 such hot spots with the help of locals in Diwar and visited in night hours. Caught suspiciously moving people from other states near isolated church area and rounded up persons near sluice gates and jetties for drinking in open public place They were produced before magistrate on 27/06/23 and bond over
