CRIME BRANCH ARREST NIGERIAN IN DELHI FOR CHEATING THROUGH FACEBOOK
PANAJI: Crime Branch with the help of Delhi police on Wednesday arrested Onuorah Donatus Jideoffor (28), a Nigerian national in Delhi on the charge of cheating the complainant to the tune of Rs 5.16 lakh in Facebook fraud.
According to the Crime Branch police, the accused by fictitious name Steve Jose befriended the victim on Facebook and promised to send the victim a gift from abroad.
Thereafter on the pretext of Customs clearance, cheated the complainant for Rs 5.16 lakh, which was deposited in fictitious accounts used by fraudster.
After registering the complaint on November 6, investigation was carried out and in coordination with Delhi Police, Crime Branch team led by PI Filomena Costa and PSI Nitin Halankar identified Nigerian national Onuorah Donatus Jideoffor, currently residing in Mohan Garden, Delhi.
