Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration Bambolim-Goa has issued a press note on World Food Safety Day celebration. The World Food Safety Day is celebrated on the 7th June every year. The Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had organized a program on the occasion of World Food Safety Day at New Delhi on 7th June 2023. During this program, the State Food Safety Index Awards were declared & the state of Goa was awarded as the best performing state in the Small States Category for the 5th consecutive year.
The state specific event will be held on 16th June 2023 at Hotel Fidalgo, Panaji, Goa. Several programs will be held to celebrate the World Food Safety Day. The Chief Guest for the function is Shri. Ralph de Sousa, President, Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry, & the Guest of Honour is Shri. Mahesh Patil, Chairman, Goa State Pollution Control Board.
The event will start with an inaugural function at 10.30 am, followed by Session on disposal of Used cooking oil By GSPCB & Muenzer Bharat. A workshop on Health & Nutrition is organized for the Government Officials and Consumer Forums. There will be a Food Business Operator Meet for the Cashew Industry post lunch, followed by a Millets based Cooking Contest
