The State government has announced implementation of Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Policy For State run establishments, wherein the departments or autonomous bodies would engage apprentices and pay them stipend. Government has approved a policy by name, “Goa Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Policy for Government Establishment -2023″ to increase the employment of the youth of Goa and to encourage participation of Government and Public Sector Establishments, in line with Apprenticeship Training Scheme for those youth who are having fifteen years’ residence in the State of Goa.
In this regards, it is requested that all Government Departments, State Government Establishments/Autonomous bodies/Public Sector Undertaking shall engage apprentices and pay them stipend through Scholarship/stipend head which would be opened across all Departments by Finance Department and amount in this would be filled through re-appropriation.
The details of the stipend to be paid to Apprentices is mentioned in the policy guidelines approved by Government, It is directed by CM that registration of all departments along with opportunities available for, has to be uploaded on www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in by all Departments, by 23rd June 2023
The Apprentices Act, 1961 (Amended 2014) was enacted with the objective of regulating the program of training of apprentices in the Industry/ Establishment by utilizing the facilities available therein for imparting on-the-job training. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India, is the administrative ministry responsible for implementation of the Act.
