Indian Plumbing Association National Executive Board members, Gurmit Singh Arora and Chandra Shekhar Gupta met Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant recently for the development of COIPP (Centre of International Plumbing Practices), one of its own kind, state-of-the-art working plumbing lab which is coming up in Goa Engineering College.

Dr. Pramod Sawant blessed the COIPP project and assured his full support for the development of COIPP. In talks with the Chief Minister, the IPA NEB pressed the need for following correct plumbing practices in built environment. IPA leaders suggested the Goa Chief minister to have regular Water Audits in all buildings which can result in saving/ conserving water in huge quantities as it helps in identification of problem areas and suggesting better installations. IPA Goa Chapter Chair, Ashok Joshi and Vice Chair, Guruprasad Mantravadi were also present during this meeting.
On 9th July 2021, Indian Plumbing Association signed an MoU with Goa Engineering College to set up Centre of International Plumbing Practices in the presence of Dr. Pramod Sawant. An area of 625 sq m is earmarked for this lab at Goa Engineering College campus.

Centre of International Plumbing Practices, COIPP is a joint initiative of the Indian Plumbing Association, the apex body of plumbing professionals in India and Goa Engineering College. This will be a platform for one stop learning, knowledge acquiring and practice hub for Plumbing and building fraternity as it will demonstrate latest plumbing equipment and fittings for every modern building.

The lab will have walk through and see through connections for better understanding and installation, live display modules and product display areas including Bathroom models, swimming pool, tool room. There will be a library and workshop area for students.

COIPP will showcase good plumbing practices and warning on bad plumbing installations. It will help professionals and workers employed by builders and contractors in and around Goa in a sphere of 400 kms to increase their plumbing knowledge and skills. As an estimate a workforce of 50k plus will benefit instantly. Apart from this, COIPP will be visited by huge number of building professionals who visit Goa.
