Alleging that ‘Mission Total Commission’ by BJP government is resulting into substandard work and its fallouts are seen everywhere, Congress leader Amarnath Panjikar has said that leakage of Shree Saptakoteshwar Temple roof is another feather in the cap of saffron party’s scams.
“Shree Saptakoteshwar Temple was inaugurated in February by spending 7.7 crore on its renovation. Today its roof is leaking. Why this is happening only because of substandard work done by this ‘Mission Total Commission’ government,” Panjikar said.
He said that recently, the roof of Kala Academy’s open auditorium collapsed allegedly due to the same reason. “In Kala Academy case, BJP has set a precedent of nominating contractors instead of inviting tenders for ‘commission’. It seems it has not even spared religious places like temples and has compromised quality work for commission,” he said.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had congratulated the Goa government on the renovation of the historic Shree Saptakoteshwar Temple. “It’s a big shame that BJP, who garner vote on Hindu agenda, is doing corruption even on projects like temple renovation. Now the Prime Minister and Home Minister should ask Chief Minister Pramod Sawant about the sub-standard work done,” he said.
“Archeology Minister Subhash Phaldesai and PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral should come clear over this incident. Taxpayers money is being used for this project and now it is wasted as work is found substandard,” Panjikar said.
“It is the duty of the government to investigate the matter, as before renovation the roof never leaked. It seems BJP Ministers are making money on renovation projects and they never take responsibility for it, rather they play a blame game,” he said.
