AAP raises concerns over deteriorating law & order situation in state

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the alarming deterioration in the state’s law and order situation. AAP leaders voiced their concerns and called on the government to prioritize the safety and security of the citizens instead of targeting opposition leaders.

While addressing the media on Friday AAP leader Sandesh Telekar Dessai pointed out that a significant number of police resources have been allocated to intergoate AAP President Adv Amit Palekar. Nevertheless, the BJP government has been unable to effectively employ these same police resources to tackle the urgent law and order concerns in the state.

Another AAP leader, Adv Pratima Coutinho, brought attention to troubling figures, citing the registration of 400 cases over the past 5.5 years, which encompass distressing occurrences like murder, rape, and molestation. She voiced apprehensions regarding the unresolved Siddhi Naik case, underscoring the ineffectiveness of the Home Minister in addressing these matters.

Valmiki Naik, another prominent AAP leader, accused the BJP government of being more focused on suppressing AAP instead of addressing critical law and order challenges. Naik appealed to the Governor to summon the Home Minister to address the worsening situation.

Naik also expressed gratitude to opposition political leaders, including Goa Forward Party Chief Vijai Sardesai, Congress Chief Yuri Alemao, and TMC leader Samil Volvoikar, for supporting AAP President Adv Amit Palekar and speaking out against the conspiracy strategies employed by the BJP government.

Additionally, AAP leader Adv. Surel Tilve lambasted the BJP government, labeling it as an “event management administration” that has fallen short in resolving incidents like the hacking of their former deputy minister’s phone. He raised concerns about the government’s incapability to identify the perpetrators, even after a two-year period. Tilve also queried how the BJP government can guarantee the security of its citizens when their own Ministers have been implicated in sexual misconduct scandals.
