The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed its strong dissatisfaction with the officials responsible for the non-functional lift at the Osia Complex in Margao, which houses various government offices. Leaders of the AAP, Lincoln Vaz and Patricia Fernandes, have strongly criticized this situation, highlighting the immense difficulties faced by senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs) as a result.

Lincoln Vaz pointed out the irony in the government’s stance, stating that while the government claims to be working towards empowering persons with disabilities, it is simultaneously ignoring the plight of this very demographic. Senior citizens and PwDs who are unable to use stairs to access government offices are left in a state of hardship.

Vaz accused that the officials is acting as a silent spectator to the suffering experienced by visitors to the Osia Complex. He urged the government to take immediate action to restore the lift to working order or, as an alternative, to prioritise relocating the government offices to the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex. The Aam Aadmi Party calls upon the government to address this critical issue promptly, ensuring that the rights and needs of senior citizens and PwDs are met without compromise.
