The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has exposed a blatant attempt by the BJP-led government to rig a Rs 100 crore contract of the upcoming National Games. The AAP has brought to light a deeply flawed tender process that was rigged to favour one particular firm, compromising the principles of transparency and fairness.

Adv. Amit Palekar, President of AAP Goa, has slammed the BJP Govt for its blatant corruption in organization of National Games which he said will backfire and embarrass Goa nationally.
“The lust for corruption in BJP Govt is so severe, that they have manipulated the contract to favour a less experienced firm at a staggering 20% higher rate, instead of another bidder who is more experienced and also quoted a significantly lower price”.

Palekar called out the BJP government for selecting Thomas Cook as the lowest bidder (L1) for the tender of National Games at Rs 110 crores, even though another experienced bidder had offered to do the same job for only Rs 92 crores. This decision raises questions about the government’s intentions.

It is deeply distressing that such a critical decision was taken at the expense of the hard-earned money of taxpayers, when these funds could have been allocated to enhance sports facilities and promote sports development in Goa. The AAP Goa has demanded an immediate investigation into this scam, failing which Palekar threatened to take legal action to ensure the right company is selected for such a prestigious event.

Also present at the press conference were AAP leaders Adv. Surel Tilve, Valmiki Naik, Salman Khan, Sarfaraz Shaikh and Francis Coelho.
