Mapusa, Goa – September 27, 2023 – Mapusa Police Station once again illuminated with the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated the festival with great enthusiasm and a series of cultural competitions. As per SDPO Mapusa, Shri. Jivba Dalvi, this year’s celebration extended for 11 days, featuring the traditional pooja of Ganapati Bappa alongside various cultural competitions, including drawing, rangoli, and patriotic song contests.

The competitions were centered around three themes: 1) Save Environment and Save Earth, 2) Road Safety, and 3) Everyday Heroes. A total of 230 students eagerly participated in these competitions, showcasing their talents and creativity.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including SDPO Mapusa Shri. Jivba Dalvi, PI Mapusa Shri. Shitakant Nayak, PI Colvale PS Shri. Vijay Rane, PI Traffic Cell Mapusa Shri. Marlon Dsouza, PSI Shri. Yeshwant Mandrekar, PSI Shri. Viraj Korgaonkar, PSI Gaurav Naik, LPSI Rupali Govekar, and LPSI Reecha Bhonsle. Their presence added to the grandeur of the event.

Mapusa Police Station took pride in organizing this mega drawing competition for the students of Bardez Taluka. It not only showcased the artistic talents of the students but also fostered positive relations between the police and the public. SDPO Mapusa Shri. Jivba Dalvi emphasized that this event was specially organized to strengthen the bond between the police and the community. The students were also given insights into the functioning of the Police Station.

DYSP Shri. Jivba Dalvi expressed gratitude towards the parents who supported their children’s participation in the competition, and Shri. Shitakant Nayak presented a heartfelt vote of thanks.

On September 27th, all participating students received participation certificates from special chief guests, including SP North Nidhin Valsan, DGP Goa Shri. Jashpal Singh, and State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade.

The Mapusa Police Station’s celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi and the hosting of these cultural competitions serve as a testament to the commitment of the police force to connect with the public and foster a sense of unity and community spirit.
