73% GOANS WILL GET ZERO ELECTRICITY BILLS WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AAP GOVT COMING TO POWER IN GOA: CHADHA
PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national spokesman and Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha on Tuesday declared that 73 per cent of Goans, who presently receive electricity bills below 200 units will pay zero amount on electricity bills within 48 hours of AAP government coming to power in Goa after the 2022 Assembly elections.
He also announced that 20 per cent of Goans, who currently consume electricity between 200 and 400 units, will get their bills reduced by 50 per cent.
Chadha, who arrived in Goa produced electricity bills of States of Delhi and Goa and claimed that Kejriwal model of electricity was free and 24×7 supply while, BJP model of electricity in Goa as expensive, fleecing consumers and irregular power supply.
Chadha opined that 93 per cent of power consumers in Goa will benefit from zero power tariff and 50 per cent off on power bills within 48 hours after AAP government assumes office in Goa.
Chadha questioned when AAP government in Delhi which spends Rs 30,000 per person per annum gives free water, electricity and good schools to people, why cannot Goa government, which spends Rs 1.40 lakh on each person per year, not give it? “It lacks political will or is making up the money spent on buying 10 MLAs from the Congress Party?” he asked.
The AAP national spokesman alleged that Power Minister Nilesh Cabral was shying away from public debate on electricity model and was giving excuses of protocol, to avoid public debate.
According to Chadha, the real reason was that BJP high Command from Delhi had reprimanded the power minister and the State leadership not to indulge in any such public debate as a result of which the Goa BJP leadership is running away from the challenge which they themselves had originally given.
He said such a debate would help deepen democracy and benefit of people of Goa.
During press briefing, Chadha called Cabral on his mobile phone number and received a message that it was busy.
When asked if he would meet Cabral in his Secretariat office, Chadha said that he is not in Goa to meet behind closed doors.
