CONGRESS EXPELS URFAN MULLA FROM PRIMARY MEMBERSHIP FOR SIX YEARS FOR ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITIES

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Tuesday expelled former Minority Department chairman and spokesperson of the party, Urfan Mulla from primary membership of the party for six years for indulging in anti-party activities.

Mulla had resigned from his post on November 15 alleging that there was lack of unity among senior party leaders in the State and that nobody was bothered about the issues being faced by the minority communities.

He had faxed his resignation letter to AICC President Sonia Gandhi.

Reacting to his expulsion, Urfan Mulla told Prime Media TV the the question of his expulsion does not arise since he quit party posts on November 15 and resigned from the primary membership of the party on Monday, November 16.

To a question, Mulla hinted that he will join national party with a day or two. However, he declined to disclose the name of the party.

Meanwhile, it is reliably learnt that Mulla will join the BJP due to proximity to Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavalekar.
