TWO KILLED IN HIT AND RUN CASE AT USGAO
PONDA: A two-wheeler rider and a woman riding pillion were killed on the spot after their two-wheeler was knocked down by a speeding unidentified vehicle at Usgao-Barazan on Wednesday morning.
The Ponda police gave the names of victims as Chandrakant Dhali (20) and Alisha Fernandes (22), both from Pale.
The police are on the lookout for unknown vehicle involved in hit and run case.
The accident occurred at around 9:10 am when the duo were proceeding from Pale to Ponda for work. On reaching near the primary health centre their two-wheeler was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. After the mishap the driver fled with the vehicle from the spot without informing the police.
On getting the information, the Ponda police rushed to the spot and conducted the panchanama. The bodies were sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for post-mortem examination.
