Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, a Goan, assumed the charge of Chief Staff Officer (Training) at HQ , Southern Naval Command, kochi on 16 Jan 2024. An alumnus of Indian Naval Academy, he was commissioned into Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1993 and is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Army Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow.

He was born in Morjim Goa and to shri Meghnath later stayed at various places in Goa considering transfeable job of his father shri meghnath shenai, a retired primary teacher and fondly called as Bhai master.

The flg officer joined the navy as a sailor in 1985 and later qualified three stage CW exam meant for the selection to the rank of an officer.

The Flag Officer has held several appointments, both afloat and ashore. As a specialist in Gunnery and Missile Warfare, he has served onboard IN ships, Ranvijay, Mumbai and Delhi. He later commanded IN Ships Kirch, Trishul & Talwar and ashore units Droncharya and India. His staff tenures include appointments at NHQ, HQ Western Naval command & 22 missile Killers Squadron, HQENC & Local workup team (East). He was also the Director, Centre for ethics , leadership and behavioral studies (CELABS) at Kochi.

The Flag officer was awarded VCNS commendation in 2009, CNS commendation in 2011 and Nao Sena Medal in 2021.

The flag officer is an avid barefoot half marathon runner and likes to read books on varied subjects. His family comprises his father, wife and two children. He wishes to dedicate his life towards social work in Goa post his retirement and make a positive difference to the society.
