RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE DEPLOYED TO THWART PROTESTORS OPPOSING DOUBLE TRACKING WORK

MARGAO. The Railways have pressed into service armed Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel to act tough against the protestors opposing the work of laying double tacks in the Salcete taluka.

According to the Railway Police, around 20 armed Railway Protection Force (RPF) have been deployed at Davorlim and Sao Jose de Areal to act tough against those trying to break law and order.

The South Western Railway (SWR), Hubballi division has made RPF personnel available to provide security along the railway tracks.

Besides this, Maina-Curtorim police station along with senior police officers are also camping the two villages even as situation was under control and no untoward incident has been reported.
