Panaji: The National Students’ Union of India (Goa) held a protest against the irregularities in NEET exam on 11.06.2024 at 3.30 PM in Azad Maidan. The protest was attended by NEET aspirants, MBBS Goa Medical College students as well as members of the civil society.

Naushad Chowdhari the state president came down heavily on the union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan by criticising him for his inaction on the alleged NEET paper leak and made allegations of scoring anomalies, suspicious timing of result release, clustering of toppers from single centers, and question paper leaks.

“The discrepancies in the NEET exam which is answered by 12 std students wanting to pursue a carre in medical has have left 24 lakh students in distress. Particularly it is affecting thousands of Goan Students who have answered the NEET UG 2024,” lamented Chowdhari.

While the Goa University incharge for NSUI Adv. Prasenjeet Dhage said, “NEET aspirants study for a year to answer this test and sometimes even 2-3 years go in preparation, now due to the paper leak their career is in jeopardy. Just for the appeasement of the few, sincere NEET aspirants are being put in the harm’s way”

NSUI has written to the CM Dr Pramod Sawant and Union Minister Shripad Naik requesting them to urgently find a solution that not only addresses these concerns but also restores trust in the examination system. “Students’ futures are at stake, and they must have confidence in the fairness and integrity of the exams they undertake,” read the memorandum.

NSUI Goa demanded that CMO Goa on behalf of our Goan Students should write to Union Ministry of Education , NTA demanding to act on concerns of NEET aspirants, reorganise NEET exam and find the perpetrators behind this.

NSUI has also demanded to implement measures to ensure a transparent and trustworthy examination process. “It’s crucial to reassure students and uphold the credibility of our medical education system,” said Chowdhari.
