Director General NCC, Lt General Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, PVSM and VSN will flag off a motorbike/scooter rally commemorating the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2024. The event is organized by The Ex NCC Cadets Association-Goa in collaboration with JCI Panaji and Prime TV as the media partner.
Colonel Jesus Furtado, Commanding Officer of 1 Goa Battalion NCC, will also be present.
The rally will start from Miramar Circle at 9:00 AM and proceed to Azad Maidan, concluding with a gathering. The event will feature speeches by defense veterans and a wreath-laying ceremony to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Participants should arrive by 8:40 AM, and helmets are mandatory.
Kargil war veteran Captain Utpal Datta, NM (Gallantry), the sole Naval Officer who participated in the Kargil war zone, will share his experiences in a talk titled “Kargil as I Have Seen It.” Colonel Balkrishna Shirodkar and Lieutenant Colonel Austin Colaco will lead the rally and address the gathering. Participants are encouraged to display the national flag on their bikes.
After the rally, a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at Azad Maidan. Captain Datta will further recount his firsthand experiences from Kargil. Colonels Colaco and Shirodkar, along with other dignitaries, will pay their respects to the martyrs during the ceremony.
