The Goan EveryDay: Fun, frolic returns as Malar hosts Bonderam after 2 yrs

The people of São Mathias, Divar island are ready to flag off the annual Bonderam festival on 19 August 2024. Preparations are in full swing for the grand culmination of the event that starts this year at 11 AM with the Patoinchem fest curated by Festakar Marius Fernandes.
As a first in the history of the festival, the event runs through the day with a host of activities for all ages.
Speaking about the details at a press conference in Panjim, Divadkar, festakar, Marius Fernandes shared, “This year we start the Bonderam festivities with a Patoinchem Fest at the São Mathias Sports Club. The fest will feature workshops and talks for all. The annual Jevonn and Pasoi will follow with the active participation of the locals.”
A special addition to the festivities is the GED Talks. “It stands for Green Educational Talks and will feature eminent environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar talking about the tigers,” and Malarkar Ross Picardo, said Remy Almeida, Vive Present, Sao Mathias Sports Club. He appreciated the collaborated efforts of the locals, Goa Tourism, and the Department of Arts and Culture in ensuring its success.
Further elaborating on the festivities, Seby Crasto, President of the Sao Mathias Sports Club, mentioned, “The evening will showcase the traditional float parade. Lynx will be the band in attendance along with DrJ Macattack, and the legendary Seby Fernandes of Mira Mira fame with RJ Joed Almeida setting the mood for the day’s events.”
Bonderam Fest promises to be an all-inclusive and accessible celebration of our rich cultural heritage.
