PANAJI: Ugtem Molob and Akhil Bharathiya Konkani Charoli Sahitya Parishad in co-ordination with Directorate of Art and Culture organized “National Level Charoli Sahitya Conference 2024” at Lecture hall of Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji on Sunday.
Raymond D’cunha Taccode, a renowned Konkani writer and founder of “All India Konkani Charoli Sahitya Parishad” welcomed the poet’s of Goa, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra to the conference. Ugtem Molob President Vivek Pissurlekar highlighted the concept behind this conference.
Renowned Konkani writer Prakash Paryekar and Director of Art and Culture Sagun Velip inaugurated the third Charoli National Conference by lighting traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, Paryekar explained the birth of konkani charoli citing examples from the history, shigmo etc and wished the sammelan all the success.
Director of Art and Culture Sagun Velip complimented the organisers for the initiative to hold such type of a conference. Sahitya Akademi writer Neelba Khandekar, Businessman and Writer Gurudas Natekar and Gaurish Vernekar were also present. Poet’s Uday Mhambre and Naveen Pereira were felicitated on the occasion for their immense contribution to poetry. Anagha Kamat compered. About 57 poet’s from Goa, Karnataka and Kerala participated in the poetry recitation session presided by renowned poet Gaurish Vernekar.
The open session was presided by renown poet and lyricist John Aguiar. Aguiar said Charoli can be written on any topics, as it only four lines but with abundant meaning at smallest lines. The one, who understand the punch and the pinch of charoli will enjoy the satire of the Charoli literature.. Poets Sandesh Bandekar, Naveen Pereira and Raymond D’Cunha were also present. Sheetal Salgaonkar proposed a vote of thanks.
