EXHIBITION BY BED TEACHER TRAINEES
PONDA: BEd teacher trainees of GVM’s Dr Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda organised monsoon vegetables and seeds exhibition at S S Samiti’s IVBD High School recently. The exhibition was conducted by BEd teacher trainees Prerna Fernandes, Shreya Karkade, Shohini Kavlekar and Meghana Rawool aimed to highlight the importance of sustainable agriculture and the protection of local monsoon vegetables in Goa.
Inspired by the Raanvati- Exhibition of Wild Vegetables and Medicinal Plants of Goa, organized by Dr Anna Neena George at GVM’s Dr Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda, this exhibition encouraged students, teachers, and parents to explore the rich biodiversity of wild monsoon vegetables such as Aalu, Taikilo, Tere, Kudduki, Dhavi Bhaji, Killa, Suring, Fagla, Aakur, Pavechi, Aambat Bhaji, Jetval Bhaji, Luthiyechi bhaji , and many others.
These vegetables, native to Goa, hold both nutritional and cultural significance that must be preserved.
Earlier the exhibition as inaugurated by school principal Sushma Dessai and received widespread appreciation from students, teachers, and parents for its role in encouraging the community to adopt more sustainable food practices.
