PANAJI: President of India Droupadi Murmu arrived in Goa on a transit visit and was accorded a warm welcome by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Protocol Minister i Mauvin Godinho.
South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Chief Secretary Dr V Candavelou, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and South Collector Egna Cleetus were also present.
At INS Hansa (Naval Air Station at Goa) 150-men Ceremonial Guard of Honour was given to the President.
Later, Droupadi Murmu proceeded to witness Indian Naval Operations on board Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant at Karwar.
President of India Droupadi Murmu will embark on the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and witness Naval Operations at sea. This is the maiden sailing of the President of India on board the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to witness the full spectrum of multi-domain naval operations.
