GOA CONGRESS CONDOLES DEATH OF ITS 2 STALWARTS AHMED PATEL AND TARUN GOGOI

PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee condoled the  untimely demise of All India Congress Committee (AICC) treasurer and one of the pillars of the Congress party Ahmed Patel and former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Paying his homage to the two party stalwarts at the Congress office, Panaji, Leader of the Opposition Digambar

Kamat said the void created by the sudden and untimely demise of Ahmed Patelji and Tarun Gogoi will be difficult to be filled. Both were stalwarts of the Congress Party and dedicated their lives to strengthen party organisation, he said.

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said that former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi worked hard in Assam and other North-East States to strengthen the Congress Party. Ahmed Patel ji will always be remembered for his honest and sincere work in the party, he added.

GPCC vice president M K Shaikh said Ahmed Patel ji treated Congress Party as his family and served the nation through the Congress. He worked tirelessly for the party and his untimely demise is a great loss to the party.

GPCC general secretary Adv Yatish Naik also paid rich tributes to both the leaders.

At the outset Kamat and Sardinha garlanded the portraits of the departed leaders.

GPCC general secretary Agnel Fernandes proposed a vote of thanks.
