PANAJI: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Goa, has announced a two-day national seminar on “New State Curriculum Frameworks (SCFs) as the Basis for Transforming School Education”, to be held at  Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Goa on December 5 and 6.

This seminar aims to bring together experts, educators, and policy makers to deliberate on the pivotal role of State Curriculum Frameworks (SCFs) in localizing and implementing the reforms proposed in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The event will provide a platform for sharing strategies, insights, and best practices to transform school education in Goa and across the country.

Addressing press conference along with Meghana Shetgaonkar, Director, SCERT-Goa and other officials , education department director Shailesh Zingade said that the chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant  will inaugurate the seminar on December 6 in the presence of Anand Rao Patil, Additional Secretary of Education Anandrao Patil, Education secretary Prasad Lolienkar and Prof Dinesh Saklani, Director, NCERT.     

Key Highlights of the Seminar: Expert Presentations: Eminent speakers, including representatives- from NCERT, NIEPA, CIET, PARAKH, NETF, Vidya Bharati and state experts will lead discussions on developing SCFs in alignment with NEP 2020.

Focused Topics: NCF-SE and competency-based learning, Role of teachers in Implementing NEP 2020, Reimagining Skill Education in Goa, Education Past Present and Future: Planning the way forward, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN): Building Strong Learning Foundations, Assessment Reforms: A Shift from Summative to Formative Evaluation, Use and Integration of Technology and Digital Education for school and teacher education

The seminar will feature an esteemed list of delegates, including Anand Rao Patil, Additional Secretary of Education, Government of India, Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, NETF, Prof Vasudha Kamat, Chairperson, Governing Board, CEC (Online), Prof Dinesh Saklani, Director, NCERT, Prof Shashikala Wanjari, Vice Chancellor, NIEPA, Prof Ranjana Arora, Prof Indrani Bhaduri, Prof Deepak Paliwal, Prof Amarendra Behara, Prof Vinay Meherotra,  Dr Madhushree Saoji, Dr Ramkrishna Rao and Prof Ramesh Babu.

The seminar will address the following objectives: Equip participants with an understanding of NEP 2020 and its roadmap for implementation at the secondary level.

Development of training resource materials for educators and master trainers.
