Adv R D Mangueshkar, Secretary General, Taekwondo Federation of India addresses  media regarding  4th India Open National Taekwondo Championship at Peddem Sports Complex, Peddem- Karaswada, Mapusa .

MAPUSA: Taekwondo Academy of Vasco with the approval and support of Taekwondo Federation of India and in association with Taekwondo Association of Goa is organizing 4th India Open National Taekwondo Championship at Peddem Sports Complex, Peddem- Karaswada, Mapusa  from 13th to 15th December.

First time in India the Taekwondo Championship will be telecast LIVE on DD SPORTS by Prasar Bharati from morning to evening. Mahadev Chavan has taken the huge task of organizing the championship and telecasting it live so as to develop taekwondo in the nook and corner of the state and the country.

To give a higher level of platform to the players and to the budding talents in order to deliver and experience the best sporting competition, this Championship has been planned by Taekwondo Academy of Vasco. The academy is very thankful to  Govind Gaude, Sports Minister, Government of Goa and Dr Geeta Suresh Nagvenkar, Executive Director, Sports Authority of Goa for their wholehearted support towards organizing this mega event.

The Championship will be conducted in Kyorugi (Fighting) and Poomsae (Presentation) for Mini Sub-Junior (U-8 years), Sub-Juniors (U-12 years), Cadet (U-14 years, Juniors (U-17 years) and Seniors (above 17 years) for Male and Female Divisions. Players will be battling for 450 medals.

Player from all over the country will be participating in the mega event. To ensure fair play, Adv R D Mangueshkar, Secretary General, Taekwondo Federation of India has ensured to bring Technical Officials from all the states of our country. Around 65 Technical Officials from Kerala, Chhatisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Orissa, Kolkata, Telangana, Delhi along with the officials from Goa State will be officiating in the Championship.
