
VALPOI: A 14-day Bomb Disposal and Counter Improvised Explosive Device training program was successfully conducted by Officials from the National Security Guard, Mumbai at the Police Training School in Valpoi from 8th to 21st January.
The training was conducted by instructors I/C Major B Venkatesh, YR-IM Surjit Metei, and KR-II Shubham Nikam. Twenty-eight police personnel from various police stations and units of Goa Police attended the training, which covered topics such as: Types of Explosives: Introduction to various types of explosives and their characteristics. Equipment Handling: Training on handling specialized equipment for bomb disposal and counter-IED operations. Explosive Sniffer Dogs: Understanding the role and deployment of explosive sniffer dogs in detecting and neutralizing threats.
The training concluded with a closing ceremony on January 21 where all participants received certificates for completing the course. Distinguished guests, including Kiran J Poduval, SP Security, Wilson D’Souza, DYSP Security, Vice Principal PTS Valpoi Nolasco Raposo and PI BDDS Paresh Navelkar were present for the function to show their support and appreciation for NSG and the participants hard work.
