PANAJI:  The Department of Tourism have cancelled shack license issued to Manuel Espritosanto Fernandes on  Arambol beach stretch for subletting his beach shack no 4  and ordered to demolished the same  within seven days from the receipt of the order after three of its employees were arrested  for an alleged murder.  

The action initiated based on a report submitted by the Police Inspector of Mandrem Police Station on January 27 after Arambol resident Amar Bandekar murdered by shack employees  and it was found that  Manuel Espritosanto Fernandes had sublet the beach shack in violation of Clause 20 of the policy.

In view of this serious breach, the Department has also imposed a penalty of Rs 25 lakh and forfeited the security deposit paid by the allottee to the government treasury.  Additionally, Manuel Espritosanto Fernandes has been permanently blacklisted and debarred from participating in any future shack allotment processes under the Tourism Shack Policy.
