NEW DELHI: Days after Ranveer Allahbadia, the founder of the popular YouTube channel ‘Beer Biceps’, found himself at the centre of multiple complaints and police probe for the alleged obscene comments during an appearance on the show ‘India’s Got Latent’, the social media influencer approached the Supreme Court seeking relief in the matter.

Appearing for him, advocate Abhinav Chandrachud told a Bench presided by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna that multiple FIRs were being filed in the matter. The CJI said that it has already given a date for hearing the case.

Chandrachud referred to Assam Police moving against Allahbadia and that there was apprehension of arrest. The CJI, however, refused to comment on the same and added that the court is not allowing oral mentioning.

The Maharashtra cyber police had booked Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina and other artists for allegedly making obscene content and broadcasting it on Raina’s India’s Got Latent show after it sparked a huge controversy. This is the second FIR against the duo, with the Assam police having registered one on Monday.

The cyber police have booked 30 people over obscene and foul language allegedly used during the show. Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on social media that Allahbadia, Raina and others were booked in his state on Monday.

The National Commission for Women has also summoned podcaster Allahbadia, Raina and five others for the remarks. “NCW takes serious note of derogatory & racist remarks made on ‘India’s Got Latent’ show. Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has issued summons to Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari & Saurabh Bothra for a personal hearing on Feb 17, 2025, at NCW office, New Delhi,” the NCW said.
