TRAFFIC MARSHALL ASSAULTED, CHAIN SNATCHED AT MOPA AIRPORT SITE

PERNEM: The Pernem police on Friday registered an FIR against a notorious person for allegedly  assaulting and snatching a chain of a  traffic marshall at Mopa Airport site.

According to information given by Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi, a complaint was received from one Keshav Shetye of Varkhand, Pernem complaining that Swapnil Parab of Varkhand came at Mopa Airport site in a tinted car and parked it blocking the road. When he was requested to move his car, the accused abused, assaulted and threatened the traffic marshall with dire consequences. Also he snatched away of the chain wore by the complainant.

Accused Swapnil Parab is an active criminal and has many serious crimes registered against him at Pernem, Porvorim, Ponda and Mapusa police station. Police have attached the Maruti Swift car bearing registration number GA-11-A-4761, which was kept hidden in Varkhand area, PI Dalvi said.

An offence under sections 504, 356, 379, 506 (ii) of IPC has been registered against Swapnil Parab. All efforts are on to nab the accused.
