That last two months, there were continuous house breaking theft cases reported at Pernem Police Station from different places of Ashwem, Morjim, Mandrem and Arambol areas wherein unknown accused used to target Foreign Tourist and Indian tourist by committing theft of their valuable items like their Professional Camera, Camera lens, Mobile Phone, Bluetooth speakers, Apple Ipods, Cash etc.
During the course of investigation received technical inputs and information from reliable sources that the accused persons are operating as gang and are present in Calangute area. Accordingly different teams were formed under leadership of PI Pernem Shri Dattaram Raut, PSI Harish Vaigankar and PSI Vivek Halarkar and arrested accused persons namely 1) Mr. Sherief M s/o Abdul Rahman M,age:45 yrs,r/o Mullan Mathackal House,Kundery, Vayathur, Kannur Kerala 2) Mr. Shaji s/o Madavan P M ,age: 42 yrs,r/o Siddhapura Village, Guyya, Virajpet, Kodagu Karnataka. 3)Mr. Sreethu C.S s/o Sunil Kumar ,age: 30 yrs, r/o Cheruvila Puthen Veedu, Kolithattu,Iritty, Kannur Kerala from Candolim
Further course of investigation it is came on record that accused used to commit theft by breaking of locks of the main door or by entering from the windows during the night time. The accused persons after commission of crime, used to flee to state to Karnataka and Kerala.
During the Operation Pernem Police had recovered the stolen properties A. Smart phones of different brands
B. Professionals Cameras
C. Apple Airpods and wireless Bluetooth ear phones D. Bluetooth Speakers
E. Wrist watches
F. Ritz Car
and other articles all worth Rs. 13,00,000/- approximately.
The accused persons are in Police Custody of Pernem Police Station and
they will be thoroughly interrogated to find out their links with other undetected cases at Pernem Police Station and other Police Station in the State of Goa and also
to find out involvements ofthe other associates in said crime.
