Goa Youth Congress President Joel Andrade hit out at Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Revenue Minister and Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserrate for covering the casino branding with white cloth in their preparations for the G-20 summit and accused the Sawant-Monserrate duo of otherwise branding the city as a casino destination, a brand that Panjimities are ashamed of having.
In a series of tweets posted with pictures, Andrade said, “The @DrPramodPSawant – led Goa government and Panaji MLA @babushmonserrate, otherwise in love with the Casino industry, have covered the casino branding with white cloth in their preparations for the G-20 summit. 1/2.”
Andrade questioned if the casino branding in Panaji is only for Panjimites and Goans to see and said that the people of Goa would not allow further damage to the city. “Is a casino industry painted Panaji only for Panjimites and Goans to see? What are you ashamed of showing the delegates? Why can’t you have the same perimeters for us, Panjimites and Goans? You’ll have done enough harm, and we’ll not allow any further damage to our city.
