AAP’s Benaulim MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas met with SP South Goa Sunita Sawant to address a serious incident involving Colva PSI Vibin Rao Shirodkar. The PSI allegedly brutally assaulted a woman who came to the police station to file a complaint. Viegas has demanded the immediate suspension of the PSI.
On Tuesday, the woman, accompanied by Capt. Viegas, filed an FIR against the Colva PSI. Viegas said “The PSI brutally hit the woman and asked her to lick his boot if she wants to save her husband. Whatever incident happened, I am not debating that. My only worry is how a male police officer can treat a woman like this? Who gave him the authority? Where is the Pink Force, or are they just showpieces?”
Capt. Viegas emphasised the need for immediate action and accountability within the police force. Superintendent of Police Sunita Sawant has assured Capt. Viegas that she is fully in agreement and will investigate this matter and take rightful action.
AAP stands firm in its commitment to justice and the protection of women’s rights. The party will continue to monitor the situation and ensure that appropriate measures are taken against any misconduct within the police force.
