Panaji: In view of the Beach Football discipline that commenced on Saturday at Colva as part of the 37th National Games, Benaulim MLA Shri Venzy Viegas participated in a review meeting. Beach Football is being held at Colva from 28 October to 1 November. Those present at the meeting included Venue Commander, representatives of Sports Authority of Goa, Thomas Cook, GoBanana, GHRDC, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Colva Police, Traffic Cell, and local panchayat.

Viegas was also onsite to oversee the hotmixing of roads in Colva that was taken up as part of the infrastructure works for the Games. Panch member of Colva village panchayat Agnelo Rodrigues said that the MLA has seized the opportunity of the National Games to ensure infrastructure works are carried out efficiently in Colva. “For many years, this stretch was not hot-mixed. Lot of development is being taken due to the Games. We are positive that more roads will be taken up for hot-mixing soon,” he said.
