AAP Vice President Prof. Ramrao Wagh has launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government over the inefficiency of the Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC). Prof. Wagh stated that despite completing a year since its establishment, the GSSC has failed to fill vacant posts, while BJP’s commission agents are actively filling up posts in an opaque manner.
Taking a dig at the BJP government, Prof. Wagh remarked, “The GSSC was formed to bring transparency in the recruitment process. But in its one year of grand inaction, the GSSC has only demonstrated the BJP’s style of governance—complete inefficiency masked by tall claims. While the GSSC remains in hibernation, BJP’s commission agents are running the show to fill posts without accountability. This is nothing but a betrayal of Goan youth who trusted this government to provide jobs on merit.”
The GSSC, established in December 2023, had initially requested all government departments to share details of their vacant positions. At that time, there were over 1,000 vacant posts across the state. According to reports, 28 departments have already submitted their data to the commission. However, even after nearly a year, more than 900 vacancies not have been filled, leaving countless job aspirants frustrated and disillusioned.
Wagh further added, “Goans deserve a system where jobs are awarded based on qualifications, not through backdoor dealings or favoritism. It is shameful that the BJP has reduced the GSSC to a mere decorative body while allowing agents to exploit the system.”
AAP Youth Wing State President Rohan Naik criticised the BJP government, expressing anguish over Revenue Minister Babush Monseratte’s statement suggesting both bribe givers and takers should be booked. Naik questioned why Goan youth are being forced into such a corrupt system in the first place. “The BJP government has turned government jobs into a commodity for sale. Givers pay bribes because they know merit doesn’t matter in this system. This is BJP’s governance style—bribes rule while merit suffers,” said Naik.
AAP Youth Wing Vice President Salman Khan urged BJP Yuva Morcha members to step forward, stand with Goa’s youth, and demand strict action against those involved in scams.
Khan also questioned the Goa Human Resource Development Commission regarding the recent advertisement of 945 posts, which saw youth from across the state applying. He highlighted that the government collected ₹15 lakhs through application fees and demanded transparency on how this money was utilised. He further asked, “When will the scrutiny process begin, and when can applicants expect the results?”
AAP Youth Leader Neash Coutinho shared his ordeal while attempting to apply for a contractual job at the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation, exposing the chaos and lack of discipline at the application process. He highlighted the presence of BJP workers who took forms without payment, while applicants like him were forced to leave the queue to arrange cash, as digital payments were not accepted. Neash stated that such incidents have eroded the trust of Goa’s youth in this government’s ability to provide fair job opportunities, leaving them frustrated and disillusioned.
AAP has demanded immediate action to ensure the GSSC fulfills its mandate and addresses the backlog of vacancies in a fair and transparent manner. The party also urged the youth of Goa to hold the BJP government accountable for its failure to deliver jobs to deserving candidates.
