Assagao, Goa: In a dramatic turn of events, a late-night fire incident was averted by the courageous actions of local firefighters in Assagao, Goa. At approximately 20:31 hours, a distress call was received, summoning the firefighters to the scene of a house fire. The property in question, situated near Assagao Panchayat at Assagao Bardez, Goa, was swiftly engulfed in flames due to a short circuit. The home, owned by Mr. Pradip Mandrekar, suffered significant losses estimated at approximately 2,00,000/- (2 lakhs).
The flames posed a grave threat to various valuable possessions inside the house, including electrical items such as LED TVs, lights, sound systems, and home theatres. Personal belongings, such as clothing, a fridge, cupboard, and a washing machine, were also at risk of being consumed by the fire.
The heroics of the on-duty firefighting crew, led by Shri Dnyaneshwar S. Sawant, S/o Shri Vishnu B. Gawas, LFf, alongside Shri Yogesh R. Amonkar, Dop, Shri Sanil B. Banualikar, FF, Shri Paresh R. Mandrekar, and Shri A. A. Volvoikar, FF, played a vital role in preventing further damage. Their swift and effective response saved approximately 5,00,000/- (5 lakhs) worth of property from being consumed by the flames.
