CALANGUTE PANCHAYAT, LOCALS WILL STAND BY SOUZA LOBO HOTEL: MINISTER
CALANGUTE: Science and Technology Minister Michael lobo on Tuesday said that the Calangute village panchayat, locals and he himself will stand with the iconic restaurant Souza Lobo Restaurant and Bar, which was vandalised by persons from Delhi on Saturday night.
Lobo warned that the accused, who vandalised their restaurant, will have to follow process of law, if he wants to do any rebuilding or fencing of his property. There are many hotels and restaurants which are owned by non-Goans, but they have to cooperate with the locals and not cause them any problems, he added.
He said that the alleged accused was given permission for repairs and not for reconstruction. He reiterated that the Calangute panchayat, locals and he himself will stand by the oldest Souza Lobo Restaurant and Bar, which was established in 1932.
“Locals are first and they (non Goans) have to cooperate with locals. We don’t want such people who harass locals. The accused will face action and will be chargesheeted,” Lobo said.
