
VASCO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated a state-of-the-art STEM Lab at Murgaon High School, Vasco on Wednesday, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of education and fostering creativity and innovation among students.
The inauguration ceremony was also graced by Sankalp Amonkar, MLA of Mormugao; Armelindo Karmali, Chairman of Murgaon High School; Sindhu Nair, Headmistress; Tulsidas Desai, Ex-Headmaster of the school; and Yogesh Kerkar, Managing Director of Qurious Mind Infotainment.
The STEM Lab has been established as part of a forward-thinking initiative by the Goa CSR Authority, with generous support from VRL Logistics and Qurious Mind Infotainment is designed to enhance the learning experience for students by providing hands-on access to cutting-edge science experiment kits, robotics kits, a 3D printer, and a variety of hand tools.
These resources will promote creativity and critical thinking while nurturing problem-solving capabilities among students, preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow’s world. In his address, Dr Pramod Sawant, expressed his deep appreciation for the collaborative effort that led to the establishment of the STEM Lab. He highlighted the importance of STEM education in shaping the future of young minds, particularly in a technology-driven world. Dr Sawant emphasized that the Goa government remains committed to improving the educational infrastructure across the state and making quality education accessible to all students. He praised the Goa CSR Authority, VRL Logistics, and Qurious Mind Infotainment for their invaluable contributions to this initiative, which he believes will inspire students to explore their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Sankalp Amonkar spoke about the significance of equipping students with the tools needed to succeed in the 21st century. He praised the establishment of the STEM Lab, stating that it would help students develop practical skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
He also commended the efforts of the Goa CSR Authority and the private partners for working together to bring this initiative to life. Amonkar encouraged the students to make the most of the resources available in the STEM Lab and assured them that such initiatives would continue to support their growth and prospects.
The STEM Lab is expected to become a hub of creativity and innovation, offering students a hands-on learning environment to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an engaging and impactful way. Armelindo Karmali, Chairman of Murgaon High School, welcomed the gathering and Sindhu Nair, Headmistress of Murgaon High School, proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher Nilima Karper along with Sulaksha Raiker were the Master of Ceremony.
