KOCHI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited and met Padma Shri, Sahitya Academy Awardee, author, and activist Narayana Purushottam Mallya at his residence in Kochi.
Chief Minister acknowledged his remarkable contributions to the Konkani language, particularly for initiating a movement to get Konkani recognized as a National Language. He noted that Narayana Purushottam Mallya has authored many books in Konkani and, as a dedicated proponent of the language, was honored with the title of “Konkani Pitamaha” by the Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha in 2005.
