    MID SEA ON PASSENGER VESSEL OFF GOA

  1. In a remarkable display of skill, dedication, and collaborative efforts, a medical evacuation at sea was successfully executed by the Indian Coast Guard Ship C- 158, ensuring the safety and well-being of those in need.
  2. A message was received from passenger vessel Celebrity Millenium facing a medical emergency far from land in sea at 1925 hrs on 19 Feb 24 in position 40 km inside Sea, stating that 01 passenger namely Mr. Fernando Cruz Mendez, Age – 53 Yrs, Mexican citizen is suffering from heart attack. The vessels last Port of call was Mormugao and was proceeding towards Mumbai.
  3. Coast Guard Headquarters at Goa, immediately diverted ICGS C-158 which was on area patrol to render assistance to Patient onboard Celebrity Millennium. ICGS C-158 reached alongside vessel at 2130 h for evacuation of patient. At about 2140 h ICGS C-158 casted off from MV Celebrity Millenium alongwith Patient, Patients wife and 01 medical attendant and headed towards Mormugao harbour. ICGS C-158 entered Mormugao Harbour at 2330 hrs and handed over the patient to ambulance provided by Agent at Mormugao Port for further medical management at SMRC, Goa.
