Panaji: Stating that the Congress Party will win the Karnataka Assembly Elections with a thumping majority, Goa Youth Congress President Joel Andrade on Sunday said that the party is working overtime to ensure that the guarantees the Congress has promised the people of Karnataka reach every household.
Andrade said that a large number of Youth Congress workers from across the country are camping in Karnataka in support of the leadership, and that this has boosted the morale of the Congress cadre.
Karnataka goes to polls on May 10, while counting will be taken up on May 13.
Speaking to media persons from Bengaluru, Karnataka, Andrade said, “We are winning the Karnataka Assembly with an overwhelming majority. Of the 224 assembly seats, we are confident of bagging 130 plus seats. However, with a few days to go for the polls, we are now pushing for 150-plus seats,”.
Andrade, a young councillor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji, has been instrumental in galvanising a strong team of Youth Congress workers from the coastal state to drive the Congress Party’s campaign in Karnataka.
In a tweet that Andrade shared on Sunday from Bengaluru, he said, “I have joined the campaign trail on the streets of Bengaluru, campaigning door-to-door, organising small gatherings and much more. The Youth Congress is working tirelessly to ensure that the guarantees the Congress party has promised the people of Karnataka reach every house. The Congress wave is here in Karnataka!”
Andrade, who has been campaigning across various regions of Karnataka such as Uttar Kannada, Bengaluru, etc, said, “With the Karnataka results in our favour, the Congress cadre will be charged up as we get battle-ready for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections. We have state elections lined up in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, and we are well-poised for a strong performance in these states.”
