Introducing the Carnaval Theme Song ‘Carnaval in Goa 2024 (Amcho Goycho Carnaval)

Department of Tourism conveyed a press conference briefing the media about the Carnaval 2024 Festival Schedules. Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director of Tourism addressed the media in the presence of Mr. Clive Gracious, the King Momo of Carnaval 2024 at the Department of Tourism in Patto, wherein the details of the timings and routes of the floats will start.

The Director briefed the media about the overview of the grand Carnaval festivities, renowned for creating an annual saga in Panjim. Commencing promptly at 3:30 PM, the proceedings in Panjim will be inaugurated by the esteemed presence of Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Shri. Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, and Printing and Stationery and other dignitaries.

The Carnaval float parades are scheduled as follows: 9th February – Porvorim will begin with its Curtain raiser event from IHM to Acdil School, 10th February – Panjim celebration from Patto Bridge to Campal Ground, 11th February – Margao festivities from Holy Spirit Church to Margao Municipal Council Square, 12th February – Vasco celebration from St. Andrew’s Junction (Swatantra Path) to Joshi Chowk, 13th February – Mapusa jubilations from Mapusa Court to Mapusa Bus Stand, 13th February – Morjim revelry from HDFC Bank Madhalemaz Madrem to Ajoba Temple Ashwem.

Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director of Tourism stated “Carnaval is not just a festival; it’s a celebration of music, enjoyment, and bringing our community together. It is a great opportunity to witness when the streets of Goa come alive with color, music, and dance, showcasing the rich tapestry of our heritage. The Department of Tourism encourages everyone to immerse themselves fully in the festivities, to dance to the rhythms of our music, and to create cherished memories with friends and family.”

The press conference also included the unveiling of the Carnaval theme song titled “Carnaval in Goa 2024 (Amcho Goycho Carnaval).” This vibrant anthem falls under the genre of Latin Samba, promising to infuse the festivities with infectious rhythms and joyful melodies. The song is performed by Lavina Soares & Friends Band, ensuring a vibrant and authentic representation of Goan culture and music.

King Momo, Mr. Clive Gracious expressed his gratitude for realising his long-cherished dream of embodying the spirit of Carnaval. He credited and thanked the Goa Tourism Department and the Government of Goa for keeping such events alive, as well as their unwavering support, and emphasising the significance of Carnaval as the only state carnival in India. King Momo urged everyone to stay positive, promote tourism, and portray Carnaval in a positive light. He highlighted the importance of promoting floats, youth involvement, and enhancing the overall experience of the festival. King Momo concluded his speech by expressing his desire to serve as an example for the youth, encouraging them to remain energetic and strive for greatness.
