DISTRICT AND SESSIONS COURT STAYED THE JMFC ORDER CONVICTING FORMER MINISTER RAMESH TAWADKAR

MARGAO: The District and Sessions Court, Margao on Friday stayed the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Canacona  order convicting former Minister Ramesh Tawadkar.

Adv Dharmanand Vernekar on behalf of Ramesh Tawadkar has filed an appeal before the District and Sessions Court convicting Tawadkar in a criminal case registered against him in 2017.

The JMFC, Canacona had convicted Tawadkar, under sections 352 and 506 (ii) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sentenced him to `till rising of the court’ and to pay a compensation of Rs 10,000 to the victim Puno Velip. The District and Sessions court while staying the order of the JMFC, Canacona, has called for the records and proceedings of the Canacona court and has listed the appeal on for arguments on December
