
PANAJI: Dr Saumya Swaminathan during her visit to Goa visited the stall of Ramanata Crisna Poi Raicar School of Agriculture and interacted with the management, staff and the students.
She was briefed about the higher secondary and college education in Agriculture by Manguirish Pai Raiker, Chairman of the RCPR Education Society, Prasad Rangnekar, chairman of the Advisory board and in charge of the School Shrirang Jambhle.
Dr Saumya Swaminathan complimented the team of this college and appreciated the stress laid on the practical work carried out in the field by the students under the supervision of the faculty members.
She was very happy to note the syllabus content which is adapted with the changing scenario and the incorporation of the digital processes along with the mechanical equipment in bringing about the ease of farming.
She mentioned such initiatives which prompt and motivate the youth to get attracted to farming should be promoted by the government and is also the need of the hour to feed the growing population.
