  3. EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR SOUTH GOA MP AFTER  VISIT AT GOA ENGINEERING COLLEGE

FARMAGUDI: Upon the invitation of the Principal of Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi, Member of Parliament Captain Viriato Fernandes visited the institution. His return to his alma mater, where he completed his Mechanical Engineering degree 34 years ago, was a profoundly emotional experience.

The familiar classrooms, canteen, and corridors evoked cherished memories of his time spent at the college.

During his visit, he had the opportunity to reconnect with some of his former classmates, seniors, and juniors, who are now faculty members, which added to the significance of the occasion.

Subsequently, he engaged in a meaningful discussion with the next generation of well-informed, aspiring engineers regarding the role of engineers in nation-building.

Reliving those unforgettable moments and sharing his personal journey with these bright students proved to be a deeply rewarding experience. A memorandum was presented to the MP by Principal Dr Krupashankara M S and ASHRAE Secretary Balkrishna Chodankar. The event was also attended by Dr. Suraj Rane (HOD of the Mechanical Engineering Department), Dr Ganesh Hegde (Professor of Alumni Affairs), Dr Milind Sakhardande (Staff Advisor of MESA), Dr  Purnanand Savoikar (Professor in the Civil Department), along with various faculty members, staff, and student council representatives.
