ENTERTAINMENT SOCIETY OF GOA (ESG) HAS FORMULATED A “FILM SHOOTING AND EVENTS MANAGEMENT POLICY” TO CRACK DOWN ON OBSCENE FILM SHOOTS.

PANJIM: Canacona was rocked by protests over model Poonam Pandey obscene film clip and Milind Soman nude photos which were shot in Goa. But there seemed to be no agency which would crack down on such violations. In this context, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) Vice Chairman Subhash Phaldesai said that the ESG has formulated a “Film Shooting and Events Management Policy” which will be submitted to the Chief Minister for approval.

In this policy, Phaldesai said the ESG will have teeth to act as an enforcement agency and to fix responsibility on such wrongdoings. Destination Weddings should also come under ambit of ESG, Phaldesai said. ESG is also contemplating a section on Goan Films at the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held at Panaji from January 16 to 24.

Speaking during Prime TV’s programme “Need of the Hour” ESG Vice Chairman Subhash Phaldesai within one-year he completed the ESG’s audit, which was a major task as it was pending for eight years. He said ESG would now get about Rs 5 crore as reimbursement from GST.

Phaldesai also disclosed that the renovated four-screen Inox Multiplex would be inaugurated on December 16, 2020 ahead of IFFI which is now slated in January 2021. It would be the third best multiplex at the all-India level in terms of comfort and technology.
