On 02.07.2023 at 19.19 hrs Anthony Fernandes (22) from Guirim accidentally drowned at Bala Sakhleshwar temple, Assagao while having bath in the temple lake along with his friends. Accordingly visited the spot and body of the One Mr.Anthony S / o late Esperance Fernandes age 21 years R / o Vansewado , Guirim , Bardez , Goa, was fished out by locals and further shifted in ambulance at District Hopsital , Asilo , Mapusa wherein he was declared brought dead . Enquiry with locals revealed that a group of boys between age of 15-22 years from Vansewado , Guirim and other surrounding area has arrived at said spot for having bath in the lake and while having bath deceased has drown accidentally while having bath and swim by jumping into the said lake water . Enquiry with friends and locals revealed that deceased was not well versed with swimming. Body of deceased is preserved at District Hospital Asilo , Mapusa , Goa till further medico legal formalities.
