DHAVLI: A major  fire broke out on Wednesday morning in Dhavli, devastating cashew plantations and forest trees, and causing extensive damage over a one-kilometer radius throughout the night.

The blaze was so intense that flames were visible from the Dhavli four-lane highway, particularly on the hillside opposite the Bhagawati temple.

The fire brigade arrived at the scene at 5 PM; however, they faced challenges in controlling the fire due to the steep and inaccessible terrain. The forested areas and other trees on the Dhavli hills were discovered cut down and burning on the ground, raising suspicions that the fire may have been intentionally ignited for unknown reasons.

Local residents recorded the event, and the footage quickly gained traction on social media. Witnesses reported observing the hill engulfed in flames during the night, with wildlife, including snakes, either succumbing to the fire or fleeing the area.
