FIVE-YEAR-OLD DROWNS IN SWIMMING POOL AT BENAULIM
MARGAO: In a tragic incident a five-year-old boy died after he fell into a swimming pool at Benaulim on Monday evening. The boy earlier had made attempts to go to the swimming pool but was stopped by his mother and security guard.
The police gave the name of the victim as Adil Sayed, a resident of Calconda-Navelim. The boy along with his mother had gone to Benaulim where his mother works caretaker for a aged woman residing in a flat.
The boy saw the swimming pool and requested his mother to go there. However, she stopped him. The boy insisted his mother that he wants to see the swimming pool and in the afternoon he managed to reach the pool but was sent back by the security guard.
But his tragic end came in the evening when he ran towards the swimming pool without the notice of his mother and the security guard and fell into it.
He was immediately taken out and was rushed to the Hospicio Hospital, Margao where doctors declared him brought dead.
The Colva police conducted the panchanama and are conducting further investigations.
