The Goa Business Connect, jointly organized by the Goa Institute of Management and Saraswat Chamber of Commerce, was held on the 26th of November at the GIM campus in Sanquelim. The event received an overwhelming response, with over 250 people having attended and participated in the event. The Keynote Speaker for the event was Mrs. Sulakshana Sawant, prominent social worker and educationist. Mrs. Sawant delivered the opening address alongside Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director of GIM and CA Siddharth Sinkar, the Founder Director of Saraswat Chamber of Commerce.

The event theme was focused on the scaling-up of small ventures and the tools they require for the same. The keynote speaker, Mrs. Sawant, spoke on the need for risk taking by individuals for enterprise development and the importance of scaling up process for MSMEs, which form the backbone of the state as well as national economic development.

The speakers included eminent names in the Goan business field such as Mr. Sairaj Dhond, Mr. Floyd Tavares, Mr. Gaurav Kenkre, Mr. Mahesh Pai, Mr. Gautam Kharangate, Mr. Ashwin Kamat, Mr. Mangirish Salelkar, and Ms. Sonia Kunkolicar. They elucidated their thoughts and answered questions on various current industrial topics relevant to Goan businesses ranging from digitalization and GST filing to Swayampoorna E-Bazaar for artisans and the government’s support schemes for businesses.

The organizing committee from the Saraswat Chamber of Commerce comprised of Mr. Anirudha Walawalkar, Mr. Pravin Kakode, Prof. Meena Parulekar, Mr. Shirish Pai Angle, and Mr. Gautam Dhume, while from GIM’s side included Prof. Akshay Bhat, Prof. Rohit Prabhudesai, Prof. Anshul Aggarwal, Prof. Anshul Mandliya, Prof. Aman Bhuwania, and Prof. Shantanu Prasad, amongst others.
