Renowned journalist Vikram Chandra in conversation with Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Srinivas Dempo during GCCI’s Leaders @ GCCI event held at Vivanta Goa, Panaji.
PANAJI: Discussing Goa’s potential, Vikram Chandra, renowned journalist, Tech enthusiast and founder of editorji envisioned a “Viksit Goa 2030,” and communicated that Goa, with its unique charm and potential, can become a thinking economy hub by promoting the idea of “Live in Goa, Think in Goa.”With many intellectuals making Goa their home there is a bright opportunity for creating an AI & Biotech hub in Goa, he stated.
Vikram Chandra made this statement in conversation with Srinivas Dempo, President, Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) on reimagining Goa’s future titled Goa 2.0: A Global and Sustainable Hub for Prosperity at GCCI’s Leaders @ GCCI event held at Vivanta Goa, Panaji on November 26.
He shared that a comprehensive blueprint for Goa’s development is essential to unlock its full potential. With the right focus, Goa could evolve into a global, sustainable, and prosperous hub by 2030.
He also shared candid insights on the flawed business models of Indian news channels, where TRPs drive sensationalism. He emphasized the power of curation in today’s digital age, platform like Editorji to navigate the overwhelming amount of information available.
Prof Alexander Triantis , Dean – John Hopkins Carey Business School Baltimore USA also spoke on the occasion and shared his perspectives on forward thinking and the pivotal role of academia in shaping future innovations.
Shrinivas Dempo spoke about GCCI and Goa’s natural advantages. He talked of a fast changing world. Dempo said that Goa needs world class universities, an entrepreneurial culture and ecosystem, large talent pool, great medical and recreation facilities, excellent public transport system, connectivity with the world, a growth mindset, and a focused effort to keep growth inclusive and sustainable.
The GCCI Theme document on “Inclusive and Sustainable Growth for Goa @ 2047” was presented to the speaker. Earlier, Sanjay Amonkar, Director General of GCCI gave his opening remarks. Rohan Bhandare conducted the event flawlessly. Lalit Saraswat spoke about the Leaders @ GCCI series where GCCI will invite leaders who can inspire, change our perspective, and broaden our horizons. Harshvardhan Bhatkuly introduced Vikram Chandra, and Yatin Kakodkar delivered the vote of thanks. Also present were Ralph De Sousa & Manguirish Pai Raikeramong others.
